Minister D. Tsogtbaatar meets South Korean ambassador
Newly appointed Ambassador of South Korea to Mongolia Chung Jae-nam met with Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar on June 6 to discuss accelerating some important cooperation projects between the two countries.
D.Tsogtbaatar noted that the ministry will closely cooperate with the new ambassador to increase trade and economic collaboration, and South Korean investment in Mongolia.
The minister also said he hopes to streamline the visa processes for two countries’ visa applicants.
The foreign affairs minister asked Ambassador Jae-nam to focus on speeding up a soft loan of 500 million USD granted by South Korea to Mongolia, which are projected to be spent in reducing air and environment pollution in Ulaanbaatar.
The ambassador stated that he will actively collaborate with Mongolia throughout his diplomatic mission to carry out projects in Mongolia through South Korean loans and aids, develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and seek to broaden cultural and educational collaboration.
Jae-nam pointed out that by studying the South Korean visa facility for Mongolian applicants, he will closely collaborate with the ministry by holding further meetings on this issue.
The ambassador noted that thanks to the current economic growth in Mongolia, more South Korean investors and entrepreneurs have become interested in collaboration opportunities with Mongolia.
He added that as Mongolia is making efforts to promote stability and security in Northeast Asia, he will actively work to support the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security.
