Taiwan Fund for Children and Families opens UB office

Taiwan-based Internatio­nal NGO Taiwan Fund for Children and Families has opened its new representa­tive office in Ulaanbaata­r.

The new office was opened on June 18 with attendance from the fund’s CEO Su-Chiou Ho, Chairman of the fund Li-Min Chao, and other associated officials.

The office is 910 square meters in size and in addition to a staff rooms, it has a children’s library, room for arts and crafts, storage room, meeting rooms, and a training room.

“The Taiwan Fund for Children and Families in Mongolia is the first overseas service center we have. Since its establishm­ent, the fund built its service center in Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Swaziland, Vietnam, Cambodia and Jordan, and is continuing to partner with foreign organizati­ons engaged in the same operations,” Chao stated.

“The Taiwan Fund for Children and Families works with more than 110,000 children in 35 countries. The fund strives to continue to support children living poverty across the world to become independen­t and productive.”

At the opening, Head of the Population Developmen­t Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Studies S.Tungalagta­mir expressed her sincere gratitude toward the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families for taking care of poor and vulnerable children over the past 14 years. She mentioned that the fund carries out around 20 social welfare projects each year and wished good health and happiness for every child.
