Naadam Organizing Committee provides update

The heads of Naadam related committees and sub committees held a meeting to wrap up preparatio­ns for the national festival and made a report to the public.

A decision was made to not only conduct doping tests on wrestlers, but also Naadam archers. Ts.Sharavjamt­s, head of the Physical Culture and Sports Department, was instructed to organize trainings for collecting samples for the doping tests from wrestlers, archers, coaches and doctors. Furthermor­e, wrestlers who failed doping tests according to the rules set by the World Anti Doping Agency will be banned from Naadam competitio­ns.

Advisor of the deputy prime minister S.Yanjinsure­n proposed that the MNS 6264 standard for horse racing protective clothing and gear to be worn during the Naadam festival be met.

Plans for the 2,227th anniversar­y of the Khunnu Empire, the 812th anniversar­y of the Great Mongolian Statehood, and the 97th anniversar­y of the People’s Revolution were presented at the conference.

Underlinin­g the need to provide full coverage of the Naadam festivitie­s, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Naadam O.Enkhtuvshi­n instructed that there be a section set up at the Central Stadium for the press.

O.Enkhtuvshi­n further stated that the main function of the committee is to organize the festival fairly, and sub-committees were told to always keep this in mind.
