International Junior Badminton Tournament kicks off
The Badminton Association of Mongolia organized the Junior International Series 2k18 badminton tournament from June 23 to 24 at the Central Sports Palace. Nineteen athletes competed from the United States, Australia, England, Russia, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Germany, Japan, Korea, India, Macau, Thailand and Mongolia.
The junior competition ended on Sunday and the adult division will be organized from June 27 to July 1. The Mongolian Badminton Association has been hosting the international series tournament for the past nine years annually. Since 2017, the tournament has been hosted in two categories; junior and senior.
Results of the junior men's doubles category:
1st place: M.Ratchapol and Virapat/

2nd place: Tae Choi Choi and Han Jin Li /South Korea/
3rd place: Pui N. Ch and Lam How Kim /Macau/
4th place: Lyon Lon Chok and Pan

As the Tokyo 2020 Olympics approaches, the number of Mongolians taking part in international sports tournaments are increasing.
Vice President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee B.Battushig, who is also the president of the Mongolian Badminton Association, was elected as a member of the Governing Body of the World Badminton Federation in 2017. This is also the first time that a Mongolian was elected to the Olympictype Sport Association.
