4 Mongolian companies included in Top 100 Asian startups
Four Mongolian startups -- Alchemist Technologies, Erxes, LendMN, and iHotel.mn -- were included in the Top 100 Asian startups, a program organized by e27 that mediates insights, connections, talent and funding opportunities for early-stage tech startups in Asia.
The Top 100 participated in a Fight Club competition that was organized at Echelon Asia 2018, a two day event that organized by e27 at Singapore Expo from June 28 to June 29. At the event, the Top 100 selected startups pitched their innovative ideas to a prestigious panel of judges and investors.
The organizers selected the Top 100 startups by traveling to 17 countries in two months. The companies range from all backgrounds and stages; from e-commerce to robotics, Seed stage to Series B, from Mongolia to Myanmar.
Th event saw more than 400 investors and 5,000 participants witnessing the Fight Club competition. Erxes, LendMN, iHotel.mn represented Mongolia at the event in Singapore. The companies were first qualified by Startup Mongolia NGO and ultimately chosen in May at the Echelon Top 100 APAC: Mongolia Qualifier Roadshow. At the roadshow, the top 10 startups in Mongolia presented their startups to a panel of judges.
The best startup in Mongolia was named Erxes, a marketing sales platform, while fintech based non-banking lending institute LendMN, and hotel reservation and information system iHotel.mn were named in the Top 100 Asian startups. Web development and design company Alchemist Technologies was included in the Top 100 list.
Singapore-based TreeDots, an online outlet mall providing an endto-end solution to eliminate the problem of food wastage in the city-state, clinched the judges’ choice award at Echelon Asia 2018. Myanmar-based startup Kargo, which is simplifying the logistics industry via light trucks and pickups, was named the runnerup.
