Standing Committee on Food and Agriculture reports on spring session performance
The Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture held a briefing about its spring session performance on July 5 at the State Palace.
Throughout the spring session, the standing committee discussed 24 bills and amendments to laws, three parliamentary resolutions and seven reports from ministers through 12 meetings, and submitted over 10 bills and amendments to Parliament, four of which were adopted.
Head of the standing committee L.Eldev-Ochir stated that the committee received 41 complaints from individuals and entities throughout spring session, all of which were processed and responded to.
He noted that the standing committee organized four events, including workshop, consultative meeting, and open discussion throughout spring session.
L.Eldev-Ochir stressed that the standing committee focused on amendments to the Law on Allocation of Land to Mongolian Citizens for Ownership and bill on enriched food, which were adopted by Parliament.
The standing committee’s head emphasized that the standing committee made two parliamentary resolutions to improve implementation of the new Law on Livestock Genetic Resources that entered into force on June 1.
L.Eldev-Ochir added that the standing committee issued its resolution to resolve disputes surrounding land ownership near Tuul River in Ulaanbaatar.
