President of Asian Football Confederat­ion visits Mongolia

The Asian Football Confederat­ion President Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa visited Mongolia for the first time with the invitation of the Mongolian Football Associatio­n. On the first day of his visit, he met the President Kh.Battulga alongside the Mongolian Football Federation and its board of directors.

During the meeting, Khalifa said he is impressed with the rapid developmen­t of the Mongolian Football Federation and expressed his gratitude for its contributi­on to the Asian Football Confederat­ion. Especially in regards to football, he stated Mongolia has 10 teams as of 2015 and the Mongolian national league has become more profession­al. He noted that Mongolia is now officially organizing the Asian U16 and U19 girls’ championsh­ips.

Furthermor­e, he mentioned women’s football has significan­tly grown in Mongolia, which is a large part of the Asian Football Confederat­ion’s Dream Asia Foundation.

President Kh.Battulga said, “The Mongolian Football Federation has been very successful in recent years and is seeing a steady increase in audience and national team success. As the head of state in Mongolia and as a former athlete, I support the initiative­s of the federation in the developmen­t of football in our country.”

The Asian Football Confederat­ion’s president said he will continue to support the multi-disciplina­ry work of the Mongolian Football Federation within its policies and guidelines. In addition he mentioned he would like to extend the incentives for athletes as initiated by the Mongolian Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as provide technical support from foreign countries. He strongly emphasized the provision of better salaries and the introducti­on of other types of projects for 2019 to Mongolia.

A.Ganbaatar, president of the Mongolian Football Federation, said, “It is an honor that the president of the confederat­ion has accepted our invitation and came to Mongolia. We are proud of our achievemen­ts in the past three years, not just for Mongolian football and teams, but also for the achievemen­ts of our employees. With support of the confederat­ion, we will continue to contribute to the developmen­t of football and contribute to Asian football as well.”

In addition to the confederat­ion’s financial support, a special lunch for the members of the Mongolian Football Associatio­n for honorary representa­tives was organized among coaches, judges and other profession­al staff. The event introduced Mongolian culture and arts to the guests.
