After 30 million USD in concessional loans from China and nine months of construction, the new Yarmag bridge opened with a ceremony on July 9.

The 250-meter Tuul River based bridge was built by the China Railway No.2 Group and the Mongolian-German joint company SRP Engineer Consulting Mongolia LLC acted as a consultant to the project.

With three times the capacity of the new bridges, the new Yarmag bridge has a guaranteed lifetime of 50 to 60 years. Traffic is expected to decrease by 50 to 60 percent with the new bridges. A 8.5-meter tall and 270 meter wide ramp will allow cars to not intersect when going over the bridge. The ramp bridge will intersect the Yarmag road on the back of the Bogd Khaan Mountain by two levels with a new intersection to the south.
