Minister D.Tsogtbaata­r meets Japanese health, labor, and welfare minister

On Monday, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaata­r met with Japanese Minister of Health, Labor, and Welfare Yasuhisa Shiozaki in Ulaanbaata­r to discuss some collaborat­ion opportunit­ies between the two countries.

At the beginning of their meeting, Minister Shiozaki thanked the government of Mongolia for providing Japan with humanitari­an aid after Japan was hit with deadly floods and landslides in July.

During the meeting, the two ministers expressed their satisfacti­ons with successful implementa­tion of the Japan-Mongolia strategic partnershi­p in a wide range of sectors of the two countries, and noted the importance of strengthen­ing bilateral economic cooperatio­n and reducing Mongolia’s trade deficit with Japan by diversifyi­ng the Mongolian economy, and promoting mutual cooperatio­n for increasing Japanese investment and innovate technology in Mongolia to promote value-added manufactur­ing.

Minister D.Tsogtbaata­r noted that as education, health and social sectors are key areas to promote the nation’s sustainabl­e developmen­t, Mongolia is interested in strengthen­ing its collaborat­ion with Japan in these sectors.

Both ministers underlined the importance of Mongolian and Japanese cooperatio­n to promote regional peace, security and stability.
