Premier leaves for US
On September 17, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh left for New York to attend the 73th regular session of the United Nations General Assembly, which opened on September 18 in New York, and to pay an official visit to the United States at the invitation to the White House.
During his visit to the United States, starting on September 18, U.Khurelsukh held a meeting with White House’s high-ranking officials to exchange views on the current relations and cooperation between the two countries.
As a result of the visit, the two countries will make a joint statement about a comprehensive USMongolia partnership, and negotiate a road map for developing the economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the prime minister’s visit, a declaration for approving an agreement to increase bulk water supply and improve water sanitation in Ulaanbaatar will be signed, which will be provided by the government of the United States to the government of Mongolia.
U.Khurelsukh will meet representatives from Mongolians living in America.
During the UN General Assembly, the prime minister will hold meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Administrator of the UN Development Programme Achim Steiner and other key officials to discuss the ongoing and upcoming relations and cooperation between the UN and Mongolia.
U.Khurelsukh will also attend an annual meeting for leadership for member parties of the Socialist International, a worldwide association of political parties which seeks to establish democratic socialism, which will be held in New York, to speak about policies, operations and activities of the Mongolian People’s Party at the meeting, and meet with representatives of other member parties.
