Children can now get free dental checkup and library services

-

A new child development center called Oyunlag Ireedui has launched in Bayankhoshuu in Songinokhairkhan District.

The center has a children’s library, information and technology center, dentistry and a special tailor’s workshop for vulnerable women. Children living in Bayankhoshuu can borrow any book of their choice at the library for free of charge in addition to free English, Japanese, IT, chess, calligraphy, and art classes.

The dentistry will provide dental checkup and services for free of charge to children and elderly people, said Executive Director of Songinokhaikhan Oyunlag Ireedui Ts.Sodtuya. She believes that offering free dental services will play a crucial role in reducing common tooth disorders and improve children’s dental health.

A special tailor’s workshop will be available for women who stay at home with their children and don’t have a job or profession. The Songinokhaikhan Oyunlag Ireedui hopes to teach essential skills that can help these women start a tailoring business in the long run. While receiving training, women will be able to supply work uniforms to the market.

“Dentistry is available on the first floor of the Songinokhaikhan Oyunlag Ireedui and a library is right next to it. The second floor has a reading space and IT rooms. The tailor’s office is located in the basement,” said Ts.Sodtuya. She hopes to expand the center’s operations in the future so that more children, teenagers and adults can receive services.

The center was initiated by Member of Parliament D.Sumiyabazar. His advisor J.Odbayar, who was present at the opening ceremony last Friday, noted, “A small child development center is opening today (October 5) with support from MP D.Sumiyabazar. This center will allow children to enjoy books and spend their leisure time productively by attending various kinds of workshops. We’re striving to place more than 10,000 books at the library. The main goal of the center is to help children become well-educated and healthy while supporting the employment of women.”

“The center lays a foundation for establishing child development centers in all khoroos and regions,” J.Odbayar underlined.

Eighth grade student at School No. 105 N.Temuulen said, “A very nice center we’ve never had before has opened in Songinokhairkhan District. I’m happy that I now have a place where I can spend my free time with my friends.”
