DP says draft 2019 state budget violates law

-

The Democratic Party’s (DP) caucus met on Monday to review the draft 2019 state budget.

Caucus Chairman of DP D.Erdenebat stressed that several proposals outlined in the draft state budget 2019 are in violations of the Law on Budget.

He added that the section on creation of new jobs by promoting small and medium-sized enterprises outlined in the draft are unclear and the government’s policy to reduce deficit by cutting spending without cutting necessities seems to not be carried out next year.

Chairman of DP S.Erdene said that Mongolia’s external debt has reached 27.7 billion USD, which increased by 3.5 billion USD compared to 2016.

The caucus believes that the government and legislature should link the ongoing budgetary policy with the nation’s development policies and basic guidelines for next year’s socio-economic development.
