Vice speaker participates in international parliaments’ meeting
Vice Speaker of Parliament L.EnkhAmgalan participated in the third meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments held under the theme “Economic Cooperation, Environment and Sustainable Development in Eurasia” in Antalya, Turkey from October 8 to11.
The meeting brought together a group of more than 700 representatives from 37 countries including 32 speakers and vice speakers.
Throughout the meeting, delegates discussed ways to cooperate in overcoming barriers to environmental and economic development and how to ensure global economic optimization and sustainable development.
In his speech at the meeting, L.Enkh-Amgalan pointed out that a lot of countries are facing challenges related to the economy and climate change, and underlined that outcomes of the meeting will be of significant importance to enhancing regional cooperation that will help deal with these challenges.
The vice speaker addressed the meeting to discuss the government’s ongoing policy for addressing trade challenges between Mongolia and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
L.Enkh-Amgalan noted that Mongolia’s legislature adopted a policy document on sustainable development goals and formulated a subcommittee in charge of this matter, and introduced the meeting’s delegates to the country’s environmental policy.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Vice Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan held bilateral meetings with representatives of Turkey, Russia and South Korea to discuss the relations and cooperation between the inter-parliamentary cooperation of Mongolia and their respective countries.
