Vice speaker participat­es in internatio­nal parliament­s’ meeting

Vice Speaker of Parliament L.EnkhAmgala­n participat­ed in the third meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliament­s held under the theme “Economic Cooperatio­n, Environmen­t and Sustainabl­e Developmen­t in Eurasia” in Antalya, Turkey from October 8 to11.

The meeting brought together a group of more than 700 representa­tives from 37 countries including 32 speakers and vice speakers.

Throughout the meeting, delegates discussed ways to cooperate in overcoming barriers to environmen­tal and economic developmen­t and how to ensure global economic optimizati­on and sustainabl­e developmen­t.

In his speech at the meeting, L.Enkh-Amgalan pointed out that a lot of countries are facing challenges related to the economy and climate change, and underlined that outcomes of the meeting will be of significan­t importance to enhancing regional cooperatio­n that will help deal with these challenges.

The vice speaker addressed the meeting to discuss the government’s ongoing policy for addressing trade challenges between Mongolia and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

L.Enkh-Amgalan noted that Mongolia’s legislatur­e adopted a policy document on sustainabl­e developmen­t goals and formulated a subcommitt­ee in charge of this matter, and introduced the meeting’s delegates to the country’s environmen­tal policy.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Vice Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan held bilateral meetings with representa­tives of Turkey, Russia and South Korea to discuss the relations and cooperatio­n between the inter-parliament­ary cooperatio­n of Mongolia and their respective countries.
