Deputy prime minister holds bilateral meetings with SCO members
Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin participated in the 17th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) member states held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, from October 11 to 12.
As part of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin held bilateral meetings with prime ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.
During U.Enkhtuvshin’s meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Muhammetkaliy Abulgaziyev, both sides underlined the successful ongoing progress in the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
They exchanged views on elevating bilateral ties in all possible areas, especially intensifying trade and economic collaboration, holding a meeting of the Mongolia-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission soon, and Kyrgyz’s support for establishing a free-trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Mongolia.
In addition, they discussed continuing ongoing cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, tourism and emergency management and disaster risk reduction.
In his meeting with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, U.Enkhtuvshin underlined that Mongolia is interested in strengthening its relations and cooperation with Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan. The sides discussed ways to developing bilateral ties, especially trade and economic cooperation, and exchanged views on collaboration opportunities in agricultural and energy sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin discussed with Kazakh Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev issues of expanding the scope of bilateral relations and economic cooperation, intensifying political talks and increasing the current frequency of mutual highlevel visits.
The government of Kazakhstan pledged to provide aid to some Mongolia’s western places, which experienced loss from heavy downpours and floods last summer.
U.Enkhtuvshin pointed out that the two countries’ authorities should closely cooperate with each other to realize the outcomes from the seventh meeting of the Mongolia-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, science, and technical cooperation held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, in March, action.
The deputy prime minister thanked the government of Kazakhstan for supporting Mongolia’s interest to establish a freetrade agreement between the EEU and Mongolia, and asked the Kazakh premier for further collaboration in this matter.
They also exchanged ideas on increasing the capacity of people to people travels and Kazakhstan’s experience for establishing a free trade zone.
