B.Oyungerel elected president of Mongolian Women’s Association

The Mongolian Women’s Association has elected journalist B.Oyungerel as its president. B.Oyungerel is currently serving as director general of chuhal.mn news website, executive director of Mongolian News Association, and chairwoman of Online News Association.

Former President of Mongolian Women’s Association J.Erdenechimeg, members N.Zoljargal, B.Oyungerel and D.Enkhjargal were nominated for the position. Before the voting, N.Zolzaya and D.Enkhjargal retracted. Out of 143 votes, B.Oyungerel won with 82 votes, receiving 21 more votes than J.Erdenechimeg.

The new president vowed, “Not only will I make the Mongolian Women’s Association transparent and open to the public but also combat violence against women!”
