Cabinet reviews infrastructure projects
During the regular Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar was assigned with signing loan agreements on measures which will be implemented under the ADB project to enhance transparency of budget management, and enhancement of renewable energy, which will be implemented under cooperation between the government of Mongolia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Cabinet ministers reviewed outcomes from meeting of the MongoliaChina intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, science, and technical cooperation held in Beijing last month, and agreed that the two governments held a productive meeting that will support the two countries’ future cooperation.
The prime minister instructed Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin to take control of accelerating implementations of joint measures reached during the meeting.
The ministers agreed that Mongolia
should closely collaborate with China to renew bilateral trade structure, develop value-added manufacturing, increase capacity of border checkpoints, facilitate trade barriers, and increase exports of agricultural products in order to reach the goal of increasing trade turnover between
Mongolia and China to 10 billion USD by 2020.
During the meeting, Cabinet reviewed ongoing progresses of projects to renovate Ulaanbaatar’s central waste water treatment plant, build a hydropower plant in Erdeneburen soum of Khovd Province, and the 20.9 kilometer road from Bayanzurkh Traffic Checkpoint to Nalaikh-Choir intersection, which will be carried out under Chinese non-refundable aid and soft loan.
The government negotiated with China to improve border checkpoints’ infrastructure, build apartments for 1,008 households under a Chinese non-refundable aid, and create a joint plan to be carried out from 2018 to 2020.
Cabinet supported an export loan project worth 50 million EUR between the governments of Mongolia and Belarus, which was submitted to some parliamentary standing committees for further reviews. The project will supply fire engine and equipment to the National Emergency Management Agency.
Cabinet also agreed that Mongolia will participate in the Dubai World Expo 2020 in United Arab Emirates.
