Renovations at the surrounding area of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health (NCMCH) and First Maternity Hospital were completed. The NCMCH was fitted with a helipad while the First Maternity Hospital now has a 150-car parking lot.
More than 12,000 children are born in the First Maternity Hospital and 30,000 women receive some type of medical care annually. The hospital lacked an adequate parking lot for visitors, as such, a new 150-car parking lot, pedestrian lanes, and a small garden were constructed for the hospital.
Similar to the First Maternity Hospital, more than 12,000 children are born each year at the NCMCH. It has more than 1,100 employees and is considered one of the largest hospitals in the country. A 157-car parking space was fitted at the hospital and a 15,900 square meter area of the surrounding space was covered with asphalt. Meanwhile, a pedestrian walkway was also paved. A 2,500 square meter garden area was also constructed.
Both hospitals also now host a small playground area for children. The NCMCH now also has a helipad that will be used during emergencies to transport patients in and out of the hospital. Increasingly more and more hospitals have constructed helipads in case of emergency situations.
