U.Enkhtu­vshin dis­cusses progress of new air­port de­vel­op­ment with Ja­panese del­e­gates

Deputy Prime Min­is­ter U.Enkhtu­vshin met with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Ja­panese con­sor­tium in charge of the con­struc­tion project for the new in­ter­na­tional air­port in Khushigt Val­ley, which is be­ing built with Ja­panese fi­nanc­ing, on Oc­to­ber 26 at the State Palace to dis­cuss speed­ing up the project.

Dur­ing their meeting, both sides agreed that they should work to­gether by cre­at­ing a de­tailed plan for be­gin­ning the air­port’s op­er­a­tions quickly. The air­port’s con­struc­tion is at nearly 90 per­cent com­ple­tion. Un­der the new co­op­er­a­tion plan, the par­ties will focus on build­ing fa­cil­i­ties for ca­ter­ing and fuel stor­age.

In ad­di­tion, both sides dis­cussed train­ing engi­neers and tech­ni­cal ground staff who will work at the new air­port, and the process to trans­fer of­fi­cials of government agen­cies in­clud­ing cus­toms, bor­der pro­tec­tion ser­vice, in­spec­tion, and po­lice from the old air­port to the new.
