Legal assistance and prisoner transfer treaties ratified
Parliament met on Friday to review several bills, and ratified the legal assistance treaty between Mongolia and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The treaty will help strengthen collaboration between the law enforcement agencies of Mongolia and Hong Kong to combat drug smuggling and money laundering.
During its Friday session, Parliament also ratified a prisoner transfer agreement between the governments of Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
As Mongolia supported Kazakhstan’s proposal to establish the prisoner transfer agreement, the two countries signed the agreement on March 29 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
As of October, six Mongolian citizens are serving sentences in Kazakhstan, and one of them requested to serve his sentence in Mongolia.
