Education minister visits Irkutsk
Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa paid a visit to Russia’s Irkutsk City from October 24 to 26 to strengthen educational cooperation.
Ts.Tsogzolmaa held a meeting with First Vice-Governor of Irkutsk Region Dorofeev Vladimir Yuryevich to discuss bilateral education cooperation.
The minister exchanged views on intensifying and strengthening cooperation between Mongolian and Irkutsk universities with Yuryevich.
Ts.Tsogzolmaa met with 10 Mongolian students attending Russian language course at Baikal State University through the ministry’s financing to gain special education qualification from the university.
As directors of the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and the president of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences were accompanied by the minister, they visited Irkutsk’s several universities and institutes of science to strengthen ongoing cooperation between Mongolian and Irkutsk’s universities and institutes, and seek more collaboration opportunities.
On October 25, Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa attended the ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the Irkutsk State University from which she graduated, and the university’s director awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor to the minister.
