Conference on countering money laundering takes place
An international scientific conference on “Countering Money Laundering” took place under the auspices of the prime minister of Mongolia by the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, the General Police Department, and Mongol Bank on October 30. Opening the international scientific conference, opening speeches were given by Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh and Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, member of Parliament and Chairman of the National Council on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Ts.Nyamdorj.
The conference discussed the results of the 30 academic presentations of foreign and domestic reports on the issue of money laundering. The organizers of the conference believe that this is an opportunity to combat money laundering in Mongolia and identify ways to deal with it. They also hope to coordinate international cooperation and mutual exchange of experiences. At the end of the meeting, the participants got to summarize their comments and suggestions as to what they plan to implement.
Present at the meeting were representatives of over 400 foreign and domestic organizations such as the Office of the President of Mongolia, the National Security Council, the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, Mongol Mongolia, and the Independent Agency Against Corruption. Also included were non-governmental organizations, universities, the US FBI, Canada’s Royal Horse Police Department, such as the National Police of South Korea, scientists and researchers.
