Mongolian and Russian rescue teams hold joint drill

The National Emergency Management Agency and the Emergency Management Ministry of Russia establishe­d plans to prevent disaster and accidents with a joint drill that concluded on October 30. In accordance to this plan, the Emergency Management Agency in Dornod Province organized a training in Chuluunkho­root soum titled “Emergency through borders and transbound­ary forest and steppe fire prevention” in the collaborat­ion with the Emergency Service of Russia.

During the drill, they learned about the tools and machines used to combat forest and steppe fires. In addition the two sides organized a joint fire fighting drill. Some 30 officers from the Emergency Office of Dornod Province, Emergency Service of Russia, the border administra­tion and Chuluunkho­root soum Mayor’s Office took part in the drill. The Dornod Province Emergency Management Agency reported that there was no cross-border fire in the territory of Dornod since the annual joint drill started being held.
