Mongolian and Russian rescue teams hold joint drill
The National Emergency Management Agency and the Emergency Management Ministry of Russia established plans to prevent disaster and accidents with a joint drill that concluded on October 30. In accordance to this plan, the Emergency Management Agency in Dornod Province organized a training in Chuluunkhoroot soum titled “Emergency through borders and transboundary forest and steppe fire prevention” in the collaboration with the Emergency Service of Russia.
During the drill, they learned about the tools and machines used to combat forest and steppe fires. In addition the two sides organized a joint fire fighting drill. Some 30 officers from the Emergency Office of Dornod Province, Emergency Service of Russia, the border administration and Chuluunkhoroot soum Mayor’s Office took part in the drill. The Dornod Province Emergency Management Agency reported that there was no cross-border fire in the territory of Dornod since the annual joint drill started being held.
