‘Her­itage of Trea­sure’ film to fea­ture Er­denet

A fea­ture film ti­tled “The Her­itage of Trea­sure” about Er­denet is to be made by Mon­gol Tulga Film Foun­da­tion. The film will be ded­i­cated to the 40th an­niver­sary of Er­denet and Er­denet Min­ing Cor­po­ra­tion. Within the project, au­thor­i­ties from the prov­ince and artists of the foun­da­tion have es­tab­lished a me­moran­dum of co­op­er­a­tion on Oc­to­ber 28.

L.Bat­tulga, the di­rec­tor gen­eral of the film said, “The film shoot­ing will take place in Rus­sia and the Czech Re­pub­lic through four sea­sons. The film is ex­pected to be pre­miered by Septem­ber 2019.”

The screen­play was writ­ten by R.Munkhtaria, lau­re­ate of the Writ­ers Union of Mon­go­lia. The film will fea­ture State Hon­ored Artists G.Zol­boot, B.Tun­galag, J.Oyun­dari and B.Bat-Ulzii.

Founded in 1974, the city is one of the youngest set­tle­ments in Mon­go­lia. About 25 years be­fore the city was founded, an area with large de­posits of cop­per were dis­cov­ered at the site. In the mid-1980s al­most half the pop­u­la­tion of the city was Rus­sians. With the fall of com­mu­nism, most of them left. As of now, only about 10 per­cent of the pop­u­la­tion is Rus­sian.
