State fund purchases rights to top compositions of 2018

The Government Implementing Agency on Culture and Arts in collaboration with the Union of Mongolian Composers organized a selection of the best musical compositions of 2018 from October 1 to October 30. The rights to the top 12 music pieces were purchased by the state fund after the selection.

The compositions were acquired in accordance to the regulation on purchasing the best compositions approved by the government in 2006. Members of a professional council decided to buy five compositions, which are:

Certificates were presented to the composers during the Golden Autumn 2018 festival gala concert, which took place on October 30 in the State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. The Culture and Arts Authority plans to organize discussions on the best compositions brought to the state fund in 2018, promote the music works by releasing an album and increasing the possibilities to use the works in the repertory of professional arts organizations.

Earlier in October, the Best Artworks of the Year 2018 ceremony took place. There, a total of 117 art works of 87 artists were displayed at an exhibition, including fine art, traditional paintings, sculptures, carvings, graphics, leather art and installation. During the ceremony, the top artworks were selected by a professional council and purchased by the state fund.
