Hackathon competition taking place

A hackathon competition titled “Youth participation in the development of the city” is taking place from November 27 to December 9. The competition under the general topic of “Smart UB” has three stages and is open to all youth. The organizers of the event are the Youth Development Department of Ulaanbaatar, Startup Terminal LLC and National Start-up Fund LLC.

As of 2017, the population of the capital city was 1,417,396, 33.6 percent or 477,249 of which are youth aged 15 to 34. The competition is to be held for two days in accordance with international norms. The qualified teams are to deliver their presentations on the second day and the winners will be selected.

Startup Terminal LLC will provide the five winners with a co-working office worth 21 million and the National Start-up Fund LLC will make financial contributions of up to 50 million MNT. Head of the Youth Development Department of Ulaanbaatar S.Sukh-Ochir said that these financial supports will be contributed to the winners if the project satisfies market requirements.
