168 families to be provided with gers

Cabinet decided to provide gers to 168 households whose homes were destroyed by the recent severe snow and dust storms in Bayan-Ulgii, Govi-Altai, Khovd and Uvs provinces during their regular meeting on November 28. The families that lost their homes are currently living in the homes of their relatives, school dormitories and in other temporary accommodations.

Moreover, a total of 1.4 billion USD from the government is on reserve for restoring the 110 and 220 kilowatts transmission lines of the western energy grids and to be used in the event of accidents and disasters. The possibilities of disasters this winter are high and the mayors’ offices of the provinces affected are working towards preparing herders for winter storms and difficult conditions.
