‘Pos­i­tive En­ergy’ manga launched

The launch of a manga book ti­tled “Pos­i­tive En­ergy” was held at the ini­ti­a­tion of Beau­ti­ful Hearts NGO on Novem­ber 28. The aims of the pub­li­ca­tion is to in­form peo­ple about gen­der-based vi­o­lence and its preven­tions. Present at the launch was UNFPA Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Naomi Ki­ta­hara, Head of Youth Devel­op­ment Depart­ment S.SukhOchir and Gen­eral Co­or­di­na­tor of Beau­ti­ful Hearts B.Oyun­dari.

Fol­low­ing the open­ing speeches, a dis­cus­sion took place among par­tic­i­pants.

“The goal of the book is to in­form the youth about gen­der-based vi­o­lence and ways to pre­vent it by bring­ing it close to their in­ter­ests,” said B.Oyun­dari.

A to­tal of 3,000 copies were printed and 2,000 of them are be­ing do­nated to school li­braries in Ulaan­baatar, while the other 1,000 are to be do­nated to schools in ru­ral set­tle­ments. The book was pub­lished within the frame­work of the ad­vo­cacy pro­ject “Break the Chain 2” sup­ported by UNFPA and the Swiss Agency for Devel­op­ment and Cor­po­ra­tion.
