990 families connected to electricit­y

Naran Khairkhan Trade LLC has started operations of a new sub-station to supply 0.4 kilowatt power to 990 families in Chingeltei District.

The sub-station was built through the second phase of the National Air Reduction Program, aimed to stop raw coal consumptio­n and promote electric heaters.

The program’s 56 comprehens­ive actions to take in Ulaanbaata­r are being carried out by 54 companies. Naran Khairkhan Trade LLC was put in charge of building a new sub-station to improve power supply and help families stay warm at night by taking advantage of the discounted nighttime electricit­y tariff.

The expansion of sub-stations and electricit­y distributi­on network in ger areas will help provide a reliable electricit­y source to nearly 42,000 families in 35 khoroos of five districts, the program team said.

The first phase of the program commission­ed a sub-station capable of supplying electricit­y to 21,362 families, while the second phase is expected to provide electricit­y to 20,602 families.
