990 families connected to electricity
Naran Khairkhan Trade LLC has started operations of a new sub-station to supply 0.4 kilowatt power to 990 families in Chingeltei District.
The sub-station was built through the second phase of the National Air Reduction Program, aimed to stop raw coal consumption and promote electric heaters.
The program’s 56 comprehensive actions to take in Ulaanbaatar are being carried out by 54 companies. Naran Khairkhan Trade LLC was put in charge of building a new sub-station to improve power supply and help families stay warm at night by taking advantage of the discounted nighttime electricity tariff.
The expansion of sub-stations and electricity distribution network in ger areas will help provide a reliable electricity source to nearly 42,000 families in 35 khoroos of five districts, the program team said.
The first phase of the program commissioned a sub-station capable of supplying electricity to 21,362 families, while the second phase is expected to provide electricity to 20,602 families.
