Speaker of Parliament M.Enkhbold held a press conference on December 20 at the State Palace.

At the beginning of press conference, he noted that the 28th conference of the Mongolian People’s Party took place in a closed manner, but speeches of some people criticizing him spread on social media, while his responses to their speeches were not released. M.Enkhbold said, “During the conference, Minister of Justice Ts.Nyamdorj blamed me for engaging in a plot of a group to gain control of the Erdenet mine by buying Mongolian Copper Corporation’s 49 percent holding for 400 million USD. That is crazy. That is wrong. At the conference, Ts.Nyamdorj delivered strong messages to the conference’s attendees to undermine my reputation, so I will sue him for defamation in court.”

“When I met with Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, he offered to give up his job if I resigned, but I replied to him that I will not leave office if I did not make an action in violation of the law,” said M.Enkhbold.
