N.Nomtoibayar says U.Khurelsukh is ‘father’ of SME loan misappropriation

- By R.TURMUNKH

Lawmaker N.Nomtoibayar held a news conference at the State Palace on December 18.

The lawmaker emphasized that the main focus of his press conference was to announce U.Khurelsukh as the “initiator” of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loan misappropriation.

He said, “A contract that Jargalant Makh Impex LLC under the ownership of U.Khurelsukh’s younger brother U.Davkharbayar would take a loan of 1.3 billion MNT from the Fund to Develop Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise was signed on December 13, 2016. Under the contract, the company took a loan of 327.1 million MNT from the fund on February 17, 2017, a loan of 239 million MNT from the fund on August 3, 2017, and U.Khurelsukh’s brother’s company took loans piece by piece to hide its illegal action.”

N.Nomtoibayar said that he discovered that U.Khurelsukh helped his brother take these loans by abusing his power while he was serving as deputy prime minister.

The lawmaker said that according to the 2017 asset declaration published on the website of the Independent Authority Against Corruption, U.Khurelsukh has a saving account worth 1.7 billion MNT, real state worth nearly two billion MNT, and expensive vehicles.

He said that the lawmakers who voted for U.Khurelsukh to elect him as the prime minister took loans from the fund and that the lawmakers who voted in favor of U.Khurelsukh’s Cabinet during the recent no confidence vote in Parliament show the true nature of Cabinet.

Lawmaker N.Nomtoibayar underlined that everybody can see U.Khurelsukh is struggling to defend the interests of the lawmakers engaged in SME loan misappropriation and his Cabinet exists thanks to corrupt lawmakers, which is why the existence of U.Khurelsukh’s Cabinet is at stake.

He stressed that U.Khurelsukh’s call for bringing justice to the country and society is an illusion, not a real claim, and he is just pretending to make efforts for ensuring accountability and justice.

The lawmaker implied that U.Khurelsukh is “manipulating” the public by calling others “oligarchs” to hide his illegal actions.

He noted that as U.Khurelsukh has not done any business throughout his life, he has to explain how he obtained these assets to the public.

N.Nomtoibayar announced he will seek the resignation of U.Khurelsukh’s Cabinet if U.Khurelsukh doesn’t resign voluntarily within 48 hours.
