Poets nominated for bolor cup announced

The Union of Mongolian Writers has released a list of 24 nomination­s for the 36th Bolor Cup, set to take place on January 5 in GoviAltai Province.

As next year marks the 90th anniversar­y of the union, organizers have invited Inner Mongolian and Buryat poets to recite their poetry at the upcoming Bolor Cup.

The preliminar­y selection was held in April and 27 people passed to the final round out of 380 applicants.

Most likely nominees to receive Bolor Cup are Altan-Ud award winner and master of contempora­ry poetry D.Gan-Ochir, rising poet A.Suglegmaa and P.Batnairamd­al, recipient of the Award of Union of Mongolian Writers.

Last year, M.Otgonbayar from Duut soum of Khovd Province won the Bolor Cup with his “Ijiidee Nas Guilaa” (Pleading for Age for Mother).
