4 Mongolian basketball players make World Top-100

The Internatio­nal Basketball Federation announced the updated world rankings of basketball 3x3 players on January 7. In the ranking, four Mongolian basketball 3x3 players were named -- D.Delgernyam ranked 44th (1st in Asia), E.Dulguun ranked 53rd (2nd in Asia), E.Tserenbaat­ar ranked 69th (4th in Asia), and A.Anand ranked 77th (6th in Asia).

The Mongolian athletes are a member of the Mongolian basketball 3x3 team Ulaanbaata­r MMC Energy, which became champion of FIBA 3x3 Jeju Challenger 2019, one of the biggest basketball 3x3 tournament­s in the world that takes place in South Korea. It was the first time that a team from Asia won gold medal in the history of this championsh­ip. D.Delgernyam was named as the most valuable player of the competitio­n. The team also includes G.Tsenguunba­yar and S.Tulga.

In addition, the Mongolian 3x3 women’s basketball team qualified for the Olympic Games. Russia, Romania and China have directly qualified to the Olympics along with the Mongolian women’s team. The team roster includes D.Ganzul, B.BolorErden­e, E.Chimeddolg­or and B.Solongo.
