Smart bracelet distributed to students
Head of Human Development and Social Policy at the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office Sh.Ankhmaa distributed “smart” bracelets to general education school students on January 20.
The Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office is developing a school bus application and distributing smart bracelet to students to ensure their safety. The smart bracelet not only detects the location of a child, but also allows parents to view school bus locations via an application.
“The school bus project was included in the action plan of the Ulaanbaatar mayor and the main activities of the government of Mongolia. Some 40 school buses are operating in 30 routes in the city. As a result of the project, students are provided safe travel for school and traffic congestion in the city is reduced. We are distributing smart bracelets to student to ensure their safety,” noted Head of Human Development and Social Policy at the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office Sh.Ankhmaa.
The school bus project has been carried out since November 15, 2019, serving over 3,000 students from first to fifth grade in Ulaanbaatar. A total of 40 buses transport children to school and home in two shifts. As part of the work, officials of the Education Department of the Capital City, Ulaanbaatar Transportation Department, Traffic Police Department and Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office are responsible for ensuring the safety of buses. Officials say that roads around schools are particularly prone to traffic congestion.
