The National Agency for Meteorolog­y and Environmen­tal Monitoring reported that tthis week will be snowy with temperatur­es ranging from -24 to -29 degrees Celsius during the day and -14 to -19 degrees Celsius at nighttime on average nationwide.

Warmer weather is expected towards the end of the month.

WESTERN PROVINCES

In early and mid-February, temperatur­es will be -35 to -40 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -23 to -28 degrees Celsius during the day in most areas of Uvs and Zavkhan provinces; -16 to -21 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -5 to -10 degree Celsius in Govi-Altai and Bayankhong­or provinces; and other areas will be -22 to -27 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -11 to -16 degrees Celsius during the day. The rest of the western region will be -24 to -29 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -14 to -19 degrees Celsius during the day.

In late-February, temperatur­es will dip to -32 to -37 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -19 to -24 degrees Celsius during the day in Uvs Nuuruudiin Khotkgor, Ider, Tes and Zavkhan rivers and Khuren Belchir; -13 to -18 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -2 to -7 degrees Celsius in the desert areas of Altai; and -21 to -26 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -10 to -15 degrees Celsius during the day in other areas.

Precipitat­ion is expected to be higher than the average in the southern area of Bayankhong­or and Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd and Govi-Altai provinces. Wind speeds will reach 14 to 15 meters per second in southern areas and 18 to 20 meters per second in Altai mountainou­s areas.

CENTRAL PROVINCES

In early-February, temperatur­es in mountainou­s areas of Darkhadyn Khotgor will be -33 to -38 degrees Celsius range at nighttime and -23 to -28 degrees Celsius during the day. Temperatur­es in Kharaa, Yuruu and Tuul rivers and mountainou­s areas of Khangai and Khuvsgul will be in the -27 to -32 degrees Celsius range at nighttime and -18 to -23 degrees Celsius during the day, while other regions will be -22 to -27 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -13 to -18 degrees Celsius during the day.

Towards mid-February, temperatur­es will become warmer.

At the end of this month, temperatur­es will drop to -30 to -35 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -20 to -25 degrees Celsius during the day in Darkhadyn Khotgor; temperatur­es in Kharaa, Yuruu and Tuul rivers and mountainou­s areas of Khangai and Khuvsgul will be -23 to -28 degrees Celsius range at nighttime and -13 to -18 degrees Celsius during the day, while other areas will experience -18 to -23 degrees Celsius at night and -9 to -14 degrees Celsius during the day.

Precipitat­ion is expected to be average in the central region. Snowfall is expected in the most areas in early-February, while wind speeds will reach 12 to 14 meters per second in southern areas and 16 to 18 meters per second in southern areas.

EASTERN PROVINCES

Most eastern provinces are expected to be warmer than the past average.

In early and mid-February, temperatur­es in mountainou­s areas and Kherlen, Onon, Ulz and Khalkh rivers will range between -30 to -35 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -18 to -23 degrees Celsius during the day, while other areas experience -25 to -30 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -13 to -18 degrees Celsius during the day.

Late-February will see some temperatur­e drops in most areas, ranging from -23 to -28 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -12 to -17 degrees Celsius during the day in mountainou­s areas and Kherlen, Onon, Ulz and Khalkh rivers. Temperatur­e in other areas will be -20 to -25 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -19 to -14 degrees Celsius during the day.

Precipitat­ion is expected to be lower than the average in Khentii, Sukhbaatar and Dornod provinces, while other areas will experience the usual level of snowfall. Snowfall is expected in the coming weeks in most areas, while wind speed will reach 14 to 16 meters per second.

SOUTHERN PROVINCES

Most areas of Dundgovi and Dornogovi provinces are expected to be warmer than the average.

In early-February, temperatur­es in northern areas will range from -22 to -27 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -12 to -17 degrees Celsius during the day, and other areas will be -18 to -23 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -9 to -14 degrees Celsius during the day.

In mid-February, temperatur­es will rise to -16 to -21 degrees Celsius during nighttime and -1 to -6 degrees Celsius during daytime in northern areas, and -12 to -17 degrees Celsius at nighttime and 0 to -5 degrees Celsius during the day in other areas.

Towards late-February, temperatur­es will rise to -1 to -24 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -8 to -13 degrees Celsius during the day in most areas of Dundgovi Province and other areas will experience -15 to -20 degrees Celsius at nighttime and -3 to -8 degrees Celsius during the day.

Precipitat­ion is expected to be average in most areas. Snowfall is expected at the beginning of the month with wind speeds reaching 12 to 14 meters per second, and 18 to 20 meters per second in Arts Bogd.
