P.Burentugs emerges as new champion
Mongolians across the country held their breath as they watched the final match between Ulsyn Avarga N.Batsuuri of Khovs soum, Uvs Province, the winner of the Naadam 2019, and Ulsyn Arslan P.Burentugs of Uvs Province for the championship title of this year’s Naadam wrestling tournament. In the end Ulsyn Arslan P.Burentugs emerged victorious and a new champion was born.
New Ulsyn Avarga P.Burentugs was born in 1988 as the son of Purev, a herder from Davst soum, Uvs Province. In 2004, he graduated from the secondary school in Davst soum. He started wrestling in sixth grade under the guidance of Sh.Bat-Ochir, a physical education teacher at Erdem Orgil School in Ulaangom soum, Uvs Province.
After graduating in 2007, he entered Shonkhor-Olymp Institute, founded by Darkhan Avarga Kh.Bayanmunkh. During his four years of training at the institute, he regularly competed in wrestling competitions.
P.Burentugs became aimgiin nachin in 2008, province nachin in 2010 and attained ulsyn zaan title in 2012.
At this year's Naadam, one darkhan avarga, four ulsyn avargas, seven ulsyn arslans and 93 wrestlers with state titles challenged their strength and will. More than 18 young wrestlers without a state titles competed in the fifth round for ulsyn nachin title, the lowest state title, but only nine broke through, attained the coveted state title. Those who win five matches in succession in the Naadam wrestling tournament earn the ulsyn nachin title.

7. B.Bat-Orshikh of Bayankhongor Province
8. N.Mustapa of Bayan-Ulgii Province
9. O.Munkh-Erdene of Arkhangai Province
Eight wrestler with state title were defeated in the fifth round, including Ulsyn Avarga Ch.Sanjaadamba, Ulsyn Avarga G.Erkhembayar, Ulsyn Avarga S.Munkhbat, Ulsyn Arslan Ts.Sodnomdorj, Ulsyn Garid B.Gonchigdamba, Ulsyn Zaan B.Batmunkh, Ulsyn Nachin
E.Enkhbat, and Ulsyn Nachin L.LkhaOchir.
Two newcomers obtained ulsyn khartsaga title after passing through the sixth round. B.Bat-Orshikh from Bayankhongor Province and B.Zorigtbaatar from Arkhangai Province gained ulsyn kharstaga title. Ulsyn Nachin of Umnugovi Province Ts.Odbayar was promoted to ulsyn khartsaga by winning six consecutive matches.
In the seventh round, Ulsyn Khartsaga of Arkhangai Province M.Badarch defeated Ulsyn Arslan R.Purevdagva to gain ulsyn zaan title.
