A total of 775 people arrived on five special duty planes. Our professional team decontaminated 775 passengers, 36 crew members, 1,529 hand luggage, and other luggage. Five aircrafts, 39 vehicles and outdoor decontamination were carried out to prevent the spread of infection.

Repeated testing of 231 sanokes showed no coronavirus infection.

In addition to coronavirus infection, prevention of marmot plague is underway. There are two cases in Khovd Province. The condition of the patients is moderate. No more people got sick.

On July 15, a 15-year-old boy died in Tugrug soum of Govi-Altai Province on suspicion of being infected with marmot plague. After working at the local center, the sample was brought to the national center, and the analysis revealed that he died of marmot plague infection. Some 18 people who had direct contact were isolated and are being treated.

Citizens are really indifferent about marmot plague, which is regularly registered and even deaths are registered. The plague is a highly fatal disease, with a mortality rate of 30 to 100 percent. All marmot outbreaks in 2017, 2018, and 2019 resulted in deaths.

This weekend, we responded to six calls regareding illegal hunting and transportation of marmots in Bayanzurkh, Songinokhairkhan, Khan-Uul districts and Zuunmod soum of Tuv Province. As the plague is active not only in our country, but also in Russia, Kazakhstan and Inner Mongolia, and professional organizations are making a response.
