The government of Mongolia has extended the state of high readiness until July 15, but its high-alert regime is being tightened. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, many organizations have been closed since February, and are being reopened in stages. Summer camps for children will open today (July 20). Twelve summer camps in Tuv Province, including Nairamdal, Nars, Narlag, Javkhlant, Galaxy, Sansar, Tsoglog, Muruudul, Tsagaan Nuga, Shonkgor and Anar have started preparations for four to five shifts this summer.
There are 20 permanent children's summer camps registered in the green zone of Ulaanbaatar, and 13 summer camps have applied to operate in 2020. Of these, nine summer camps are located in the green zone of Ulaanbaatar and four summer camps are located in the territory of Tuv Province.
A task force of officials from the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office, the Family, Child and Youth Development Center, Ulaanbaatar Emergency Department and Ulaanbaatar Health Department inspected and evaluated nine summer camps in the green zone of the capital on July 9 and 10.
In 2020, in connection with the outbreak of the coronavirus, more attention was paid to the hygiene and disinfection of children's summer camps. Each summer camp should be disinfected and equipped with disinfectants, hand sanitizers, thermometers, masks, and first aid kits.
Out of nine summer camps included in the monitoring and evaluation, eight summer camps meet the criteria. The average fulfilment of standards of summer camps is 74.6 percent. Recommendations were sent to each summer camp to eliminate violations and shortcomings identified during inspection.
