Underpass connecting Sun Road and Dunjingarav under construction

In 13th and 36th khoroo of Bayanzurkh District, an underpass for pedestrians and cars is being built under the railway connecting Sun Road and Dunjingarav Road near Akhmadyn Town, funded through the city budget. The commissioning of this underpass will not only reduce the load on Sun Road to Dunjingarav, but will also make it possible to travel without having to go around the Officers' Palace.

“There are more than 100 road-related projects in the city, of which more than 20 are stalled due to land acquisition. Land officials are paying close attention to this, but there are some problems with compensation,” Manager of Roads and Transportation Projects of Ulaanbaatar B.Otgonsukh said during an inspection of the underpass project on June 20.

City officials also inspected the progress of the first phase of the 0.8 km road in 2nd khoroo of Bayanzurkh District, and 3 km road and the bridge in 10th and 25th khoroos of Songinokhairkhan District north of Bayankhoshuu Terminal. These roads are important for reducing traffic congestion in the city center and Bayanzurkh and Songinokhairkhan districts, they highlighted.

Deputy Ulaanbaatar Mayor J.Batbayasgalan said, “In the current situation, the progress of the three most difficult road projects is being examined. The budget results and planning will be reviewed by professional organizations and discussed at the meeting of the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office.”
