- By KH.ENSHOOBU

Director of “The Gladious”, “Love Crime” and “Public Enemy” P.Delgerbayar released a biography film about distinguished hero L.Dandar to introduce to the world the adventures of his life during war time. The film was released in Mongolia in November 2019 and it is ready for its global premiere. The film will reportedly be released in the USA, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein and Canada as “The Warlord”.

The name of the film was “Marked Man”, but the filmmakers decided to change it to “The Warlord”, which brought criticism that the title is misleading. The film will be the first Mongolian film to be released globally with English voiceovers. The screenplay for the film, literally translated as “Bullets Can’t Be Returned”, was written by People’s Writer B.Dogmid and produced by Honored Cultural Figure J.Solongo and G.Turbat. Actor J.Altanshagai portrayed national hero L.Dandar as his debut role.

L.Dandar was recruited by the Mongolian army in 1935 and was appointed as commander of the 17th Bureau of 6th Cavalry Division after graduating Cavalry School in the Soviet Union. He demonstrated his courage and cavalry skills in the Battle of Khalkh River. He also fought in the Soviet-Japanese war in 1945. In 1946, he was accused of disobeying an officer of the Soviet Union and was imprisoned. His title and ranks were retracted. In 1964, he was re-awarded his state titles.
