The 12th edition of the Ulaanbaatar International Film Festival will be held from October 19 to 25.
The Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office, Ulaanbaatar City Department of Culture and Arts, and Arts Council of Mongolia partnered with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and Nomadia Pictures LLC, Embassy of France, Embassy of Australia, Embassy of Italy, Goethe-Institut Mongolei, and the Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar to organize the festival.
In addition to presenting 19 full-length feature films from Mongolia, France, Germany, Iran, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, China, Taiwan, Japan and Brazil, the “Irj Yvaa tsag” training will be organized to develop filmmaking capacity.
This year, the program was expanded with a new section titled “Uzekhiin Khyazgaar”. The section will be opened by the famous 1980 Mongolian film “Goviin zereglee”, which was converted to HD format for the festival.
The organizers of the festival will present the best films of the year that were featured at the Cannes, Berlin, Toronto and Venice film festivals, as well as projects of art houses and independent trends of the year to Mongolian audiences.
The Ulaanbaatar Film Festival has been organized since 2013 with an international focus.
In the past, from 2013 to 2019, 113 best art houses and independent films nominated in notable film festivals were presented to more than 24,000 spectators, and more than 1,000 Mongolian artists were involved in film forums and training.
