Altan Namar 2020 to kick off next week
The Mongolian Sports Travel Association and MAK Company will open the annual Altan Namar Competition for higher education institutions on October 16 at the National Garden Park.
The three-day event aims to develop public physical education, promote sports, encourage young people to exercise and adopt healthy lifestyles, promote sports achievements of universities and colleges, and call on everyone to love the environment and the planet.
Universities, colleges and vocational schools can sign up teams consisting of six students (three women and three men) and a coach. They will compete in seven events, each of which will award gold, silver and bronze medals to the top three competitors. Teams will also be ranked by their overall score. A special contest “We Can Do It” will be held to test the skills of
team leaders.

The team who wins first place will receive the winner’s trophy, gold medal, certificate, and cash prize of 500,000 MNT. The runner up will get silver medal, certificate, and cash prize of 400,000 MNT. Two teams will be awarded third place, which comes with bronze medal, certificate and cash prize of 300,000 MNT. Fourth and fifth place will be awarded with cash prizes of 200,000 MNT and 150,000 MNT respectively. Altan Namar will also award 80,000 MNT to the top two coaches.
