The International Union of Architects marked World Architects Day on October 5 with the slogan “Towards a better urban future”. Member countries are working together to show how urban planning, urban design and architecture can lead to the future development of the city in a participatory, safe, transparent and revenuedriven manner. As part of this, the Mongolian Chamber of Urban Development held an exhibition titled “Mongolian Architecture Today” for the second year from October 5 to 7 at Norphei Art Gallery.

The exhibition was organized to promote creative thinking, new architectural ideas and work, architectural planning and design to government and professional organizations, business representatives, and the public. Local architects showcased architectural masterpieces that contributed to the historical development of Mongolian architecture, including historic and cultural buildings, contemporary buildings and future architecture blueprints.

Urban policy must provide all residents with appropriate services, housing, and recreational facilities. Urban planning, design, and architecture all play an important role in improving the future of the city. At the same time, urban design and architecture are key factors in upgrading everyone's lifestyle and quality of life, as noted by the chamber.

Alongside the new exhibition, the chamber organized lectures, open discussions and meetings were organized to give professional organizations, social developers, architects, artists and construction experts the opportunity to exchange views on the current state of architecture in Mongolia, existing challenges and opportunities, and the future of Ulaanbaatar from an architect’s perspective. The “Mongolian Architecture Today 2020” allowed Mongolian architects to express their voices and ideas on World Architecture Day, which is being celebrated under the theme“Towards theme“Towards a better urban future”, reported organizers.
