Parliament to convene virtually
In accordance with the State Emergency Commission’s decision and Article 6.1 of the Law on Parliamentary Procedure, it was resolved to run the activities of Parliament virtually starting November 11.
In particular, the plenary session of Parliament and meetings of standing committees and working groups will be organized virtually.
Head of the Media and Public Relations Department of Parliament S.Batbaatar said on Wednesday that the photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of foundation of the permanent Parliament in Mongolia and the ceremonial meeting of the parliamentary session and scientific conference, which were scheduled to take place from November 11 to 12, have been postponed for an indefinite period.
During the spring session, Parliament amended the Law on Parliamentary Procedure, reflecting a provision on virtual meeting. According to the provision, the plenary session of Parliament is to be held via video conference in the five halls of the State Palace. The Secretariat of Parliament will also work in virtual format.
Parliament will discuss the following issues at today’s plenary session.
• Conclusions of the Constitutional Court
• Draft revision of the Law on Courts submitted by the president
• Draft revision of the Law on Legal Status, Discipline and Liability of Judges submitted by the president
• Draft revision of the Law on the Legal Status of Lawyers submitted by the president
• Draft amendment to the Law on Government of Mongolia submitted by the government
• Draft amendment to the General Law of Taxation of Mongolia submitted by the government
• Draft 2021 state budget, 2021 budget for the Social Insurance Fund and 2021 budget for the Health Insurance Fund submitted by the government
• Draft parliamentary resolution on measures to be taken in connection with the adoption of the 2021 Budget Law
• Draft amendment to the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens submitted by the government
• Draft parliamentary resolution on conducting a consultative survey and establishing a Consultative Council
• Draft parliamentary resolution on establishment of a temporary committee to support foreign investment and foreign trade submitted by 17 lawmakers
