Food packages provided for target households

On December 2, the Sukhbaatar District Mayor’s Office provided food packages to 650 target households in 1st through 10th khoroos.

The district mayor issued an ordinance on November 19, 2020 for “providing food assistance to target groups”. Accordingl­y, based on a survey submitted by the relevant department­s and committees, at-risk families that don't receive welfare pensions and benefits, and the disabled, the elderly and single-headed households were provided food packages.

The food packages for 1,150 target households will be made twice.

In addition, first-year students of the Police School of the University of Internal Affairs handed over food packages to 50 families in the ger areas of the Sukhbaatar District Special Commission on the same day. The food packages includes six types of food products. These students have been designated stand duty at the district's ger areas.

In addition, food aid has been provided to families and people with address issues in Ulaanbaata­r starting from December 3.

The activity is co-organized by Deputy Ulaanbaata­r Mayor N.Bayarchime­g, Mayor of Songinokha­irkhan District N.Altanshaga­i, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection S.Zulphar and Program Manager of the Internatio­nal Organizati­on for Migration Victor Lutenk.

This will provide food assistance to 1,000 households with conflict of residency. The distributi­on of food packages to the target families will be organized by specialist­s of the Labor and Welfare Department of the district and the heads of khoroos in full compliance with hygiene and infection control regimes.
