HAIR SALON AND FITNESS TO OPEN FOR FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE

Immunization against the coronavirus is underway across the country and more than 520,000 people were fully vaccinated as of May 5. Head of the Special Inspection Agency of the government Ts.Ganzorig explained in detail the benefits those who received vaccination will be entitled to.

From May 8, fully vaccinated hairdressers and beauticians will be permitted work and serve only vaccinated people.

From May 15, fitness centers, saunas and swimming pools will be open to fully vaccinated people.

Citizens have to obtain a vaccine certificate from e-Mongolia with a QR code to gain the “right” to access these services. The system for code recognition will be ready May 10, said the Department of Communications and Information Technology.

Ts.Ganzorig highlighted, “The State Emergency Commission estimates that by May 22, all 1 million residents in Ulaanbaatar will be fully vaccinated. The deadline for re-dosing is May 22 and June 1. If citizens are active, Ulaanbaatar residents will be fully vaccinated during this period. On May 5, more than 80,000 people nationwide were vaccinated. At this rate, it is estimated that 1.1 million people will have received the first dose in provinces by May 22.”

“Restaurants and coffee shops will be open only for delivery and takeout order from May 8 for a certain period of time. The risks remain. About 1,000 people are infected every day, and the mortality rate has not dropped. However, experts estimate that the lockdown results will be visible in more than 20 days,” he explained.

FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE TO RECEIVE 50,000 MNT

Minister of Finance B.Javkhlan announced on May 5 that the government will implement two types of measures to intensify vaccination, implying that welfare will be given on the condition of being vaccinated against COVID-19. Restrictive measures will be taken against those who have not been vaccinated, and a cash incentive will be given to those who have been fully vaccinated.

B.Javkhlan said, “The vaccine is voluntary, but the COVID-19 pandemic has put the world to the test. Therefore, vaccination is a matter of civic responsibility. People who have not been vaccinated should not be put at risk by society as a whole. Some measures will be taken against those who have not been vaccinated. Of the 47,000 people in Ulaanbaatar who receive food stamps, 29,000 have not even received the first dose of the vaccine. There are 211,000 people receiving various types of welfare, of which more than 80,000 have not been vaccinated. Therefore, starting on May 5, food vouchers and welfare for the following months will be considered based on whether you have been vaccinated. Funding for this will be provided as part of the budget reform.”
