Markets and shopping malls will open today, May 10, in connection with the easing of nationwide lockdown. The Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office issued an order and introduced the special requirements and conditions in the management of 106 types of business entities and organizations. The time limit for the operation of unrestricted trade and service organizations in the capital was set from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with around 80 percent of businesses returning to normal operation.

The decree instructed relevant officials to intensify immunization activities in the capital, to fully vaccinate employees, and to monitor the implementation of their legal obligations. Government agencies will also provide advice and counseling to every resident on how to register, monitor and prevent infection in home isolation, and provide prompt medical care.

All organizations are required to follow the infection control regime and keep distance between customers. Bars and restaurants will be closed, but food delivery and takeaway orders are allowed.

Starting May 10, traffic will shift to normal mode, according to the State Emergency Commission. This means the license plate restriction will be implemented.

In addition, gatherings of more than 30 people are prohibited at all time. A strict social distancing rule of two meters in public areas will be enforced. Traffic movement is allowed between 7:00 a.m. and midnight. Public transportation will follow the regular schedule.
