Integrity level of UB Mayor’s Office at 72%

-

The Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office held the “Let’s Uphold Justice” conference on April 4.

Senior Specialist D.Tsend-Ayush said, “According to the Integrity Assessment, the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s Office’s integrity level was 72 percent. We are also organizing training and advocacy activities in cooperation with non-governmental organizations in the city.”

He also noted that in recent years, city authorities have gradually introduced e-services, the results of which are already visible. He stressed the need to reduce the number of steps required for digitalizing government activities.

During the conference, Mayor D.Sumiyabazar said, “With the vision of creating a comfortable, eco-friendly, humancentered and smart city, we aim to provide our citizens and residents with a healthy, safe and happy living environment. We must improve the discipline, ethics and accountability of civil servants, prevent corruption, reduce bureaucracy and review cooperation with relevant organizations on a monthly and quarterly basis.”

The revocation of licenses for 74 types of services and the digitalization of Ulaanbaatar’s services are major steps toward eliminating corruption, the mayor noted before calling on senior officials at all levels of the city to take the lead in the fight against corruption.

In addition, an urgent meeting of city officials was held on Monday. During last week’s briefing, D.Sumiyabazar gave instructions in 17 areas and these tasks were 70.1 percent complete. For instance, the mayor instructed officials to intensify the implementation of some measures to be taken to eliminate land conflicts. This year, 4,860 unauthorized garages are planned to be demolished in 188 locations, of which 639 have been demolished in 26 locations and have freed 9,873 square meters so far.
