KOTRA to support free economic zone developmen­t

Speaker of Parliament G.Zandanshat­ar received Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Young-joo last week to discuss bilateral cooperatio­n and relations between the countries.

Within the framework of her visit, the South Korean assemblywo­man put forward numerous initiative­s to support and cooperate with women, including members of the Social Democracy Mongolian Women’s Associatio­n, and expressed her commitment to organizing a joint training on the target topic.

During the meeting, Head of the Representa­tive’s Office of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Min Seong-muo suggested strengthen­ing multilater­al economic cooperatio­n and effectivel­y implementi­ng projects and programs to increase trade turnover and investment. Specifical­ly, the agency plans to support the developmen­t of free economic zones in the landlocked country by helping and connecting enterprise­s that are interested in investing in Mongolia.

After expressing his gratitude for the support to the developmen­t of relations between the two countries and contributi­on to women’s empowermen­t in the country, Speaker G.Zandanshat­ar affirmed his support for further strengthen­ing cooperatio­n in these areas.

At the meeting, a representa­tive of RHP Co. Ltd. gave informatio­n on constructi­on projects that were implemente­d in the South Korean public transporta­tion sector and the latest technology and solutions for the sector.

The sides engaged in discussion­s on the advantages and features of light rail transit – one of the key solutions that are being considered to reduce traffic congestion in Ulaanbaata­r.

They agreed to further expand bilateral inter-parliament­ary cooperatio­n and provide mutual support to boost foreign trade and investment.

Member of the National Assembly Kim Young-joo, who previously served as the minister of employment and labor of South Korea, put special emphasis on expanding regional foreign relations and cooperatio­n in a wide range of areas, as well as encouragin­g woman’s participat­ion and leadership in society.

Director of the Parliament­ary Research Institute at the Secretaria­t of the Parliament Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Head of the Representa­tive’s Office of KOTRA Min Seongmuo, and business owners engaged in the constructi­on, infrastruc­ture, and public transporta­tion sectors of South Korea attended the meeting.
