49 health organizations run nationwide medical checkups
A regular meeting of city authorities was held on May 2.
Landscaping and cleaning of public roads, squares, bus stations, monuments, chairs, and children’s playgrounds along Tuul, Selbe, and Dund rivers have been done with the joint efforts of the citizens of the capital. Within the scope of the works to create a comfortable living environment in the city, 1,143 unauthorized garages have been demolished and landscaped so far. In addition, 20,100 square meters of land have been registered for public use.
In connection with the launch of the nationwide preventive and early detection checkups campaign on May 1, Head of the Ulaanbaatar Health Department B.Byambadorj briefed the authorities on the project’s progress at the meeting. A comprehensive plan to involve all citizens in the campaign in phases has been developed by family health centers and khoroo administrations.
Adults are getting 19 types of medical checkups. These include the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and tuberculosis, assessment of mental and general physical health, blood and urine tests, glucose, pap smear, hepatitis B and C tests, rapid tests for syphilis and HIV, electrocardiogram, endoscopy, gastroscopy, and ultrasound tests for the chest and abdominal areas as well as thyroid. As for children up to the age of 18, they are getting six types of medical checkups. This includes diagnosis of non-infectious diseases, mental health assessment, dental checkup, eye exam, and tuberculosis test.
It was emphasized that a digital program for early detection will be widely introduced. Results of early detection and medical examination will be stored in the program and family health centers will assess the risk of changes in medical checkups. The year-long campaign is being implemented by 49 public and private health care organizations.
