Realistic artworks put on display

- By T.ENKHNARANJAV

Artist S.Purevkhuu has launched a new independent exhibition, “Realistic”, at the M Art Gallery. In this exhibition, you can see a wonderful demonstration of the artist’s elegant dance with a brush as he continues to create his own art and space.

“Realistic is my fourth solo exhibition. I mainly create reality paintings, which are the basis of my art. This time, the exhibition features 33 paintings of four concepts: nature, flowers, urban themes, and themed paintings. There are works selected from a total of three years of work,” S.Purevkhuu highlighted.

His paintings were full of color and vivid yet emotional. For instance, his “Afternoon” piece depicts a street in one of the districts in Ulaanbaatar. The artist may have taken a picture of it while eating lunch somewhere, or he may have been sitting there for a long time as he painted every detail of the setting. In the painting, a few cars are parked along a congested street on a sunny day. Old yellow houses seem to rust in the summer heat and strong UV radiation from the sun. A few other cars are slowly driving by on the road. It is just an ordinary day at just an ordinary time of the day. But S.Purevkhuu managed to see it through the eyes of an artist and create a masterpiece out of it.

Each painting in the exhibition is unique with its own meaning. More than half of the visitors coming to see the exhibition hall were teenagers. The exhibition of paintings and photographs seems to offer them a peaceful place to relax, talk to themself, and organize their thoughts.

The exhibition will be on display through May 15. *
